Arrested Decay

This series documents the architecture in the deserted mining town of Bodie, California. Bodie was a short-lived but flourishing gold mining town in the early 1880s. At one point, the town boosted a population of over 8,000 residents and almost 2,000 buildings. Since then, most of the buildings have either burned or fallen victim to the extreme high desert temperatures. But in the early 60s it became a state park with the intent to preserve the town’s remaining structures.
